Value Equities

In our years of studying the markets and experience within the markets, we have found that the price measures at which a stock sells are directly linked to the value it provides its shareholders. This may not be true at a particular point in time for a given company, but it is true over time. That's why we review the entire universe of stocks looking for those which have the characteristics that indicate to us there are bright prospects ahead for the stock price.

Domestic Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs)

Domestic exchange-traded funds represent both specific indexes and sectors that can be used to invest in a particular area of the market we find especially appealing. For example, we may think the S & P 500 index is over-priced but utility firms within the index are not. Using exchange-traded funds, we can invest directly in utility companies without purchasing stocks we believe are already priced properly. The advantage of these funds is they are inexpensive ways to invest in just that sector of the market we find appealing.

International Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs)

International exchange-traded funds operate in the same manner as domestic funds, representing individual countries or regions. Our analysis may indicate stock prices in England are cheap across the board; using an international exchange traded fund, we can use that information without having to buy shares of British companies directly.

Fixed Income

Tax-free

Portfolios of municipal bonds, with special attention paid to credit quality and interest rate exposure.

Low-risk

Low-risk bond portfolios may include US Treasuries, Government agencies, bank Certificates of Deposit, and high-grade corporate bonds. Interest rate exposure is low in keeping with the objective of this product.

Opportunistic

Whereas duration for "low-risk" and "tax-free" products is kept to a minimum level to avoid unduly high interest rate exposure, the "opportunistic" fixed investment product will make judicious duration position selection as well as investing strategically in higher yield corporate bonds.
