"Cornerstone Principal Lays Groundwork for Research Park"

Baldwin County, Ala.- In August, the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce was presented a $70,000 check by Steve Pelham, state director of the USDA Rural Development's Rural Business Enterprise Grant Program during the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama's Summer Conference in Gulf Shores. Cornerstone Investment Management and Consulting's director of research, Scott M. Koser, CFA, was one of the pictured recipients, due to his position as chairman of the Chamber's Technology/Research Park Taskforce.

Koser is using his passion for financial freedom and empowerment to help grow the Eastern Shore business community. "As business owners, we have to not only focus on growing our own companies. We also have a commitment to each other and future job growth," stated Koser.

Named chairman last December, Koser has served on the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce's Technology/Research Park Taskforce since 2005. His responsibilities include the development and distribution of a Request For Proposal for hiring a Master Planner and managing the interviewing and selection process.

"Cornerstone Granted SEC Registration"

MOBILE, Ala. - On April 17, Cornerstone Investment Management and Consulting was granted registration as an investment adviser under Section 203(c) of the Investment Adviser Act of 1940 by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.

This law regulates investment advisers. With certain exceptions, this Act requires that firms or sole practitioners compensated for advising others about securities investments must register with the SEC and conform to regulations designed to protect investors. Since the Act was amended in 1996, generally only advisers who have at least $25 million of assets under management or advise a registered investment company must register with the Commission.

"Davidson Named Samford University's Alumni Association President"

DAPHNE, Ala. - Mark Davidson, CFA, founding partner of Cornerstone Investment Management and Consulting, was named the 2006-2008 President of the Samford University National Alumni Association. A 1992 graduate with a bachelor's degree in mathematics, Davidson will lead the association's efforts in building community among Samford alumni throughout the country.

Since graduating from Samford, Davidson has earned a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in finance from Purdue University. In 1999, he earned his designation as a Chartered Financial Analyst. Davidson is a graduate of the Leadership Mobile Class of 2006 and serves as an adjunct professor of finance at the University of South Alabama's Mitchell College of Business.

"Cornerstone Hires Local PR Firm"

DAPHNE, Ala. - Cornerstone Investment Management and Consulting announced the hiring of TriCor, a public relations, marketing and advertising agency based in Mobile. The two locally owned firms agreed to an annual contract, which puts TriCor in charge of Cornerstone's new image campaign, scheduled to be revealed this fall.

"We are excited about this new partnership," stated Scott Koser, CFA, director of research. "We wanted to hire a local firm that could meet our needs and were very impressed with the portfolio of work and clientele of TriCor. We are looking forward to a long-lasting relationship."

Cornerstone opened its doors to the public in 2003. With their hourly investment consulting and fee only investment management services, they have already made a reputation for themselves in the Mobile and Baldwin County communities.

"New Investment Firm Opens Doors"

DAPHNE, Ala. - On June 30, Cornerstone Investment Management and Consulting opened its doors to the public. Located at 1716 Main Street, Suite B in Daphne, the firm offers its clientele hourly investment consulting and fee only investment management.

Mark Davidson of Savannah, Ga. and Scott Koser of Columbus, Ga, founded Cornerstone in September 2002, after extensive market research. As portfolio managers for two prestigious investment firms in the southeast, the founding partners recognized the need for their customized services in the Gulf Coast area.

Davidson, director of investments, states, "We know that we've been blessed with numerous opportunities and it is our responsibility to share those blessings with others. At Cornerstone, we make sure that everyone receives a fair arrangement and understanding when it comes to investments."

Davidson's daily responsibilities include equity analysis, portfolio management, securities trading, performance review and assessment, macroeconomic analysis, and firm strategy and management.
